In the latest update for one of Bethesda’s recent remake for the 1993 Mars/Hell first-person shooter Doom have given everybody all DLC for free along with a new progression system for multiplayer and a new rune system for gameplay.
Update 6.66 lets players fully experience the game by allowing all to play every map, unlock every weapon, armor set, and demon for multiplayer. For the new progression system, unlocks for certain in-game items are obtained through level progression and specific challenges rather than random drops. And yes, everyone’s level has been reset to 0 to earn certain items only obtained at lower levels, but any unlocks you’ve earned prior to the update is still safe. But are given the option to reset your entire unlock progression to experience the new system at first hand.
For the new rune system, it’s a lot like the Hack Modules except for one thing, you can continuously have abilities equipped unlike the former system. Added to the update al well is the newly improved death screen, enhanced kill notifications. Besides just knowing who killed you, you will know how also now. Showing a combination of weapons, equipment and demons towards your death.
Following the updates release (July 19, 2017), there will be a free trial weekend for Xbox One and Steam starting July 20th and ending July 23rd. And a week later for Playstation 4 on July 27th and ending July 30th. And finally offering the digital version of Doom for only $14.99 if you don’t have it already.
