The new Marvel’s Avengers game from Crystal Dynamics will contain “social” and “shared” online gameplay in addition to combat sections that will be in the 3rd person style. Also, the genre of the game is action-adventure.
According to NeoGAF user kirolak, some job postings for the upcoming game currently known as “The Avengers Project” from Crystal Dynamics has revealed some brand new details about the game.
One of the job posts is for a “Combat Designer” who will work with the team at Crystal Dynamics to “plan, prototype and build combat systems that apply to a 3rd person cover based action adventure game.” The other posting is looking for a “Lead Level Designer” who can help create “fun and unique online experiences” in addition to having an understanding of “the social implications of shared gameplay.” The post also goes on to talk about skills needed for work on “various game modes and campaigns.”
Judging from these two posts, “The Avengers Project” is looking to be Square Enix’s answer to games currently out such as The Division or the Destiny franchise. This leads to speculation as for how the game would classify characters. One possibility would be a class system in which Captain America could play like your typical soldier class and Iron Man could play as a tech class.
No release date has been given for the project yet, however, expect a whole lot more information (if not an actual game release) sometime in 2018.
