
Upon understanding the realm of what is concerned for the upcoming GhostWire: Tokyo from Tango Gameworks, the project is still currently in development. Despite the initial 2021 release window paved for the game, the perspective for the title is greater than what the studio was aiming to ship the project. In a new statement from the developer, 2022 is now the target for GhostWire: Tokyo.
But when exactly leaves fans pondering for what time next year. According to a previous CES Reel from Sony Interactive Entertainment, it was said to originally ship this October. However, the listed timeframe was suddenly redacted alongside a handful of other releases also featured in the video then.
Now from Thursday’s PlayStation 5 Showcase reveals GhostWire: Tokyo is to release this coming spring. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
In a similar situation to Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop, GhostWire: Tokyo is also tied to PlayStation consoles for the first year. Previously, Microsoft confirmed to be honoring the marketing agreement between Bethesda & Sony Interactive Entertainment despite the Xbox company purchasing the publisher and both teams responsible for the releases.
While the coming Tango Gameworks will be a timed release on PlayStation, Xbox lead Phil Spencer commented on his excitement to work more closely with a Japanese team on creating a larger presence in the region. You can read the full report by heading here.
