In a new teaser video uploaded from 343 Industries, the developer pokes at the addition of returning forces from prior Halo entries. In particular, the studio references the antagonizing Banished from 2017’s Halo Wars 2 who have yet to properly be established in the mainline Halo series – only residing in the spin-off, yet canon real-time strategy subgenre.

The brief video when listening closely sounds to be the controlling leader of The Banished, Atriox. In that, he discusses the ending of the “defiance” that he frames for man’s fight against the galaxy’s control from The Banished. While the faction has only made its appearance in the latest Halo Wars entry, it surely is an welcomed addition to the coming flagship game for the Halo series.

You can listen to the clip in the video below:

“The hour approaches: forces occupy the ring. Within hours it will be under our control. Humanity will burn – their brazen defiance will be all but a memory. No more Prophets; no more lies. We stand together. Brother to the end. We are his will; we are his legacy; we are The Banished!”, the audio relayed shares in the clip.

Just earlier this month, 343 Community Director Brian Jarrad shared on Twitter that 343 Industries’ ambitions to show off the coming Halo Infinite would surely be an feature that would “own the show.” Now getting an understanding of what he was talking about with more context on the approaching launch title, it is easy to believe that the studio has a lit in store for Halo Infinite when the game reaches its release later this holiday season.

This is not the first time that the developer has used audio logs to transmit teases for their coming work. The firm has done so with two seasons of Hunt the Truth back in 2015 in anticipation for Halo 5: Guardians. The most recent for Halo Infinite is derived from a subliminal QR code that users online had to assemble to unveil a hidden message from Cortana from how it sounds.
