The official screen debut of Sega’s Blue Bur Sonic the Hedgehog has surely been a moment in entertainment history that many would wish to have forgotten about. Following the first trailer for the then-scheduled November film, fans took it to every corner of the internet to vocally condemn the model that was used for Sonic: which later resulted with the Director to announce a character rework would be necessary to bring the film to its full potential.
In the midst of the project now having to redo all renders for the film as the previous model has been discarded, it did not look that the studio would have enough time to undo the damage of the first look of Sonic before the movie’s box office debut in November: the film was then rescheduled to release on Valentine’s Day next year.
Now less than a month away from the originally slated release for the movie, it looks that the first glimpse of the new and improved Sonic the Hedgehog might have already surface thanks to a potential leak for the model. At the first look for the new model, it does show to be a more preferable appearance than what was initially introduced to video game fans back in April. However, despite this Sonic to be more of a liking than before, there is no tangible foundation that confirms if this new look is officially going to be in the February-scheduled film.
As for when we might see the new Sonic through a proper trailer from Paramount could potentially be arriving soon: seeing that the model has slipped through the cracks already, that might mean the trailer could be getting primed for a reveal in the coming future. Just when exactly is left for us to wait and see.
Are you happy with Sonic’s new look for the upcoming movie?
Sonic the Hedgehog will hit theaters on February 14, 2020.
