The launch for Battlefield V can be remembered as one of the more catastrophic releases of any Battlefield installment for Swedish developer DICE due to the handful of problems that have came along with the World War II, first-person shooter. Since then, the game has been bombarded with several game fixing updates along with a slew of different gameplay additions like the cooperative Combined Arms and battle royale Firestorm.

That doesn’t include the chapter-based content updates that DICE has brought to the game since the beginning of 2019. With the latest Chapter 4: Defying All Odds update introduced a handful of lactations varying from Egypt, to Norway, and Germany with a reimaging of Battlefield 3’s Metro with a splash from the Second World War. However, the studio then teased the game reaching halfway across the globe to the shore of Japan with a slim teaser.

Looking ahead, players have been anticipating the days leading to this Fall knowing that notorious battles on the islands of Japan would be making way to Battlefield V: revealed this week, the next chapter for the 2018 title was announced to be War in the Pacific.

Pitting the U.S. Armed Forces against the Japanese Imperial Army, these two new factions will fight on the beaches of the Japanese coast with two new maps at launch. Reintroducing the Battlefield 1942 map Iwo Jima, this map emphasizes on the Allied Forces rushing the beaches of this iconic battle as they close in on the Japanese-held camp.

Following with Pacific Storm, DICE shares that this location is spread out between a host of isles that squads will have to balance their control points on each land mass. Even teasing that some DNA of Battlefield 4’s Parcel Storm is imbedded in this unique location. Later in December, the famous Wake Island is said to make its way with a Japan-influenced makeover suiting the update: with the use of deployable fortifications, where the action sits is said to constantly move for the original Battlefield map.

Of course, there are also a new arsenal of weapons & battle pickups that will be joining this new content update. You can read the full list below:
