Back in March, developer Metronomic announced that the music-infused adventure game No Straight Roads will be shipping to PC and PlayStation 4 this coming June, Even more, the team shared a specialized Collector’s Edition for the game that includes a full vinyl of the game’s soundtrack in all running for $69.99. What comes to be one of the unique aspects for no Straight Roads is how the game embraces its rock & roll roots in a world of EDM: both literally and in the game. Set in Vinyl City, protagonists Mayday & Zuke must reclaim the city overly inhabited by the totalitarian electronic dance music regime.

Balanced between action platforming and rhythmic combat will bring an energetic experience that many titles we play today do not try to utilize. Metronomik co-founder Wan Hazmer shares the inspiration for the creating for No Straight Roads sprouted from his love for music-focused properties like Betamania back on PlayStation 2.

Hazmer already has a history in the industry with his previous work involved in Street Fighter V as a concept artist alongside his cousin Daim Dziauddin who assisted in development for Final Fantasy XV previously at Square Enix. Following both properties releasing in 2016, the two went to sought out and founded Metronomik.

Rectify Gaming during PAX West in 2019 managed to demo the game and learn more of the background for the development of No Straight Roads. You can read the full feature by heading here.
