Upon exploring more features that could improve the Xbox platform, there are avenues that the teams at Microsoft can take in doing so. Some of the updates from last year have shown to be beneficial to say the least. For example, enabling Venmo payment options for the Microsoft store is one aspect many are excited to see hit the platform.
Additionally, the same can also be said for Compact Mode that arrived in the November 2023 update intended for smaller screens when streaming games on the go. Another appreciated title update came just the month prior with Clipchamp integration which bridged the service with the Xbox app to enable more options to edit captures.
In a new update that rolled out for Xbox Insiders this week, PC players will notice a major upgrade to the desktop app. Now, users can indulge in a new interface that was grabbed directly from the Xbox console. This includes viewing friends, messages, achievements, and notifications.
“Starting today, Xbox Insiders can preview updated social features when using supported browsers, the Xbox app for Smart TVs, and Meta Quest Headsets,” the blog post reads. The Xbox Insiders update extends to PC as well as other Xbox Cloud Gaming peripherals as well. So rather than using the dedicated app, you can now run these features through browser which adds to the immersion for Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Elsewhere this week, Microsoft also rolled out new Game Hub features for PC. Now via the Xbox app, users can access game progress, manage add-ons, and even view updates from respected developer game pages. You can read the full report by heading here.
