In Overwatch, the conversation about cosmetics is a pastime for avid users. Even more when Blizzard Entertainment has begun entertaining collaborations with the series and other franchises. Previously, we saw this with its own World of Warcraft back in 2024. Additionally, 2025 was no different. Last year saw the addition of Street Fighter to the hero shooter as well.

Not to mention the major store update for Persona 5 too. This past fall was met with a major overhaul to the Overwatch 2 shop with a battalion of new items themed after the Atlus JRPG. But, that was not the only recent change that would be hitting the game then. Last month, Blizzard Entertainment announced the game would be reverting its identity by returning to simply ‘Overwatch’ without the ‘2’ attached.

And now with its recent identity, another collab is here for Overwatch. On X, the official Overwatch account confirmed that as part of a new Overwatch x Project YoRHa collab will inject a handful of skins inspired by Square Enix’s NieR into the game. You can view the promo in the post linked below:

Overall, this new collaboration is very tame in comparison to other partnerships that were formed previously. In total, there are only five skins: Kiriko as 2B, Wuyang as 9S, Vendetta as A2, Mercy as Commander White, and Lifeweaver as Adam. There is also a weapon charm based of Nier: Automata as well as a lobby theme co-deisgned by artists Kimihiko Fujisaka & Koda Kazuma.

As for the NieR IP, the timing is perfect following the recent announcement for the series. NieR: Automata recently sold over 10 million units. Celebrating its decade anniversary too, Square Enix confirmed a new title is officially in the works as well. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you surprised by this recent Overwatch collab?

Overwatch is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
