NiGHTS, AiAi, And IDW’s Tangle & Whisper Come To Sonic Racing CrossWorlds In Free DLC Roadmap

Although the release of Mario Kart World initially appeared to be the championed arcade racer this year, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds has shown to be a very promising contender. “It respects the series’ history while pushing the genre forward through innovative mechanics and thoughtful design. And in its post-launch, Sega is not hesitating on the new additions either. Already, characters such as Minecraft Steve, Persona 5 Joker, and Like a Dragon Ichiban Kasuga are available in-game. But, there is still more promise from the roadmap ahead. One of the latest announcements includes Capcom’s Mega Man & Protoman set to arrive next year.

But after the recent PlayStation State of Play, more free additions are scheduled to hit the game’s growing roster. In that, NiGHTS, Super Monkey Ball’s AiAi, and IDW Comic’s Tangle & Whisper are to be arriving in subsequent updates for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

The Sega Saturn favorite is to arrive in December next month; AiAi will arrive the following month in January 2026; the IDW duo are to follow in a separate update in February 2026.

For other recent news pertaining to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, Nintendo Switch 2 fans will be joining the races just in time. In was revealed recently that the new version for the latest Nintendo hybrid handheld is set to arrive on December 4th – likely to coincide with the new free character scheduled to arrive next month as well.
