Just this past summer, Nintendo officially shipped the Nintendo Switch 2. And with it came a new lifecycle as well as platform exclusives for the latest console hardware. In the ongoing sales for the new Switch device, it was recorded that at latest 10 million units were sold as of late September this fall. Not only that, but 2026 is shaping to be a major time for the system with FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods aiming to release later on.

Additionally, this year is already starting off strong with titles like Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade as well as Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave sometime this year too. Another anticipated addition is the next in the long line of Super Mario sports titles. Later this February, Mario Tennis Fever is set to arrive with a new flavor to the Mario tennis experience.

Recently, Nintendo confirmed with the release of the new Mario Tennis Fever game will also be a new variant option for the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con 2 controllers. There will be a new Light Purple / Light Green that will be available for pre-order already live to coincide with the game’s release.

“As you enjoy all of the chaotic tennis action in Mario Tennis Fever, you’ll also have the opportunity to give your Nintendo Switch 2 a stylish new look. Nintendo has announced the availability of the first new colored Joy-Con 2 controllers – Light Purple and Light Green,” Nintendo writes in the press release for Mario Tennis Fever.

Reading the official Nintendo eShop listing for the Joy-Con 2 controllers, it echoes the same description as the standard colors. “This set includes both a left and right Joy-Con 2 controller (along with a pair of Joy-Con 2 straps) so you can start playing locally with a friend in compatible games right out of the box.” The controllers are priced at $99.99.
