Although People Can Fly is an established developer with its previous work like Bulletstorm and Gears of War Judgment, Square Enix took a leap with the game studio publishing a new IP, Outriders. Even more stress lays on the shoulders of the team following the unprecedented miscalculation that was Marvel’s Avengers, Outriders needed to be a success.
And with many new properties, Square Enix in collaboration with Microsoft launch the game on Xbox Game Pass which welcomed more than 100K users its first day. Even more, the title went on to welcome more than 3.5 million players within its first month of releasing. This later resulted in Square Enix commending Xbox Game Pass for the executed potential that Outriders was able to meet being part of the service.
Previously, People Can Fly announced Outriders is to receive its first major expansion this June. In that, Outriders Worldslayer was announced and scheduled to release at the end of the month. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“We can’t wait for players to experience Worldslayer. In addition to a whole new story, we’ve introduced a number of new features that really expands and improves on everything players loved about the original game,” Bartek Kmita, People Can Fly Creative Director writes.
“Worldslayer includes nearly a hundred new legendary items, higher gear level caps, Apocalypse tier difficulty, Apocalypse gear, and new ways to progress your Outrider with the all-new PAX tree and Ascension levels. Not to mention the Trial of Tarya Gratar, a new endgame experience that’s different from anything we’ve done in Outriders before”.
In other relevant details regarding Outriders, the game was a featured addition to Stadia Pro in May last month. The game was a headlined title alongside Kaze and the Wild Masks, Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles, and PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls. You can read the full report by heading here.
