For developer People Can Fly, the team is currently running on the success of Outriders. Launching at the start of April, the title has proven to pull a big number of players that even publisher Square Enix did not anticipate. In that, it was recorded that roughly 100,000 players were online for Outriders in the first 24 hours of the game going live.

Of course, some of that is to blame for the recent marketing for Outriders to be provided via Xbox Game Pass. But, despite the title bundled in the monthly subscription service, users outside of the program did purchase the game. On console and Steam Outriders did surpass the top five selling titles at the time.

As for plans outside of Outriders, People Can Fly is looking to acquire more talent it appears. In a new blog post, the Polish game studio acquired Phosphor Studios to form People Can Fly Chicago.

Taking over the Phosphor Games’ team is simply an execution of our strategy, announced during PCF Group’s recent IPO. With the variety of on-going projects, we need well-seasoned, ambitious professionals to bring our plans to fruition.

Considering Phosphor’s team experience and quality I’m sure they will be a great addition to the PCF family and will facilitate our growth. Welcome on board!

Sebastian Wojciechowski, People Can Fly CEO

In addition to leadership at People Can Fly remarking on the new purchase, Phosphor Studios’ CEO Justin Corcoran also commented on the new chapter for the American game studio. “We are very excited to be joining People Can Fly to open a brand new Triple-A studio – People Can Fly Chicago. Our goal is to strengthen PCF’s presence in the US and help build People Can Fly as a global brand.”

In regards to what the future holds for People Can Fly, the team also issued its plans on new titles in the works. Particularly, the developer references it plans with both Square Enix & Take-Two Interactive. Previously, the firm opened a new branch in New York in anticipation for a upcoming, next-generation title. You can read the full repot by heading here.
