Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer

In an interview with Game Informer Australia with the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer was asked whether he feels the change from HD to 4K and HDR is, literally and figuratively, a game changer. He explains that he feels the switch from SD to HD resolutions was much more noticeable than the current switch from 4K to HDR. Says Spencer, “I’ve been around Xbox since the original Xbox and I remember the shift from SD to HD. I remember seeing Gears of War 1, which for us was the first game that I saw on pre-release 360 hardware, and I went, ‘Wow, that just looks like something new.'” He goes on to say that the transition from Xbox 360 to Xbox One is visible, but not as much so as when we went from 2D to 3D, or standard definition to high definition. What does this mean for the future of gaming and media? Where can we go from the incredible graphics capabilities we have now? Let us know what you think in the comments!
