Lately we have been seeing Microsoft gaining interest in having the Xbox One console and PC be more integrated. We already know that the Xbox One now runs on a version of Windows 10, and that Windows 10 has more gaming-related features like the Xbox app. And now Xbox including Phil Spencer are taking it up a notch with cross-buying. This will essentially let you be able to buy an Xbox game and play it on a PC, or the other way around. Xbox have also shared information about one of their most anticipated games Quantum Break, they said that the “exclusive” will be purchasable on the PC. Allowing you to play on one machine and play on the other.
Recently a fan asked Phil Spencer on twitter if third party games or Microsoft releases will be part on the cross-buy list . Phil Spencer replied by “We’ll make it a platform feature. We think its good for gamers”. Ultimately saying that this will be beneficial for all gamers. Some fans do not like the idea of Xbox exclusives being able to buy and play on PC. Other major titles on Xbox already have been said that they will be playable on PC such as Killer Instinct, Fable Legends, ReCore, and Sea of Thieves.
What will Microsoft’s next marketing strategy be? Will PC gaming and Xbox gaming be more integrated? Let’s hope that these questions will be answered soon.
