PlayStation 5 Deep Earth Collection Adds Three New Controller & Cover Colors Later This Year

When entertaining customization & personality for PlayStation 5, 2023 has remained a fairly active year on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Kicking off, the DualSense Edge arrived in January. By February, a special edition Hogwarts Legacy gamepad also rolled out then. Not to mention the Final Fantasy XVI specialized controller & covers as well.

The most recent happens to be the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 accessories that came this month. At the start of September, fans an pick up a PlayStation 5 bundle, personalized DualSense controller, or PlayStation 5 covers. The new additions add a spin on the design influenced by the duality of Spider-Man’s red and the black from Venom, a new pivotal character in the upcoming sequel.

During the Thursday PlayStation State of Play this week, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed a new Deep Earth Collection is coming later in 2023 featuring three new colors – Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“While crafting this new collection of DualSense controller and PS5 console cover colors, we drew inspiration from the beautiful and powerful hues found in the depths of planet Earth. We elevated the colors by adding a metallic finish for a touch of sophistication,” designer Satoshi Aoyagi writes on creating the new Deep Earth Collection.

Leo Cardoso adds: “Volcanic Red boasts a rich blazing red tone. Cobalt Blue, on the other hand, presents a deep shade of blue with intriguing hints of purple. Lastly, Sterling Silver showcases a classic aesthetic with a subtle blue undertone.” Both Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue accessories are set to release this November whilst the Sterling Silver aims to ship later on in late January.
