In the post-launch of Doom Eternal last year, players learned on of the largest difficulties with the game in its development phase happened to be the relationship between id Software and composer Mick Gordon. While holding a prevalent existence within the industry already, Gordon ended on bad terms with the team leaving him out of the equation for coming plans with the new release.

Additionally, it was recently pressed that the long-promised Invasion Mode for Doom Eternal is also going belly side up now. But, that is not all bad news. Instead, id Software went on to reveal that Horde Mode is to come in replacement for its now-cancelled plans. But, new problems arise with the newly-welcomed update for Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 this past week.

In that, users are discovering that save progress for the game cannot be transferred from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5. Even more, the game is also bugged for certain regions as the free upgrade is locked for players. Bethesda on Twitter explains to be investigating the issue.

As for how players are discovered to be unhappy on PlayStation 5 is an ongoing problem with how the platform is structured. Previously, PlayStation 5 users when accessing Marvel’s Avengers for the first time were angered by the amount of steps that were required just to access their save data. Whist Xbox’s Smart Delivery was prepared to unpack everything the same day on the other side of the divide, Xbox Engineering lead Eden Marie reiterates.

But, there are other complaints that echo similar energy in recent weeks. In that, there was also some upset users when discovering that upgrades for the PlayStation 5 version of Wreckfest was locked behind a $10 paywall. Of course, Xbox did not indulge the same setback for its users because of Smart Delivery. You can read the full report by heading here.
