Sony has announced their new partnership with gaming product company Astro to introduce the Astro T40 CR Controller. The new gamepad is said to push the boundaries to create a new category of controllers.

After two years of development with professional players, Astro is ready to reveal what’s coming with the newly announced controller. As a company primarily known for their top of the line headphones, the idea of a controller from Astro is pretty daring which will definitely grab attention.

Similar to the Scuf licensed PlayStation controller, Astro’s will also focus on competitive play for a wide range of genres to bring more precise play and responsive controls. With features that will make using their controller a must:

  • Repositionable stick modules for preferred control stick layouts
  • Integrated & remappable rear buttons to detail for more tense moments when needed
  • Customizable software to direct how you want choose to tailor your button/stick sensitivity, map buttons, and adjust dead zones
  • Mode Switch to decide your audio output either through an 3.5mm audio jack or 2.4 GHZ via Bluetooth
  • Trigger stops focused for mainly FPS designed for more finessed gameplay and hair trigger performance

On top of all the mentioned features the new gamepad holds, the battery life on the controller will be able to last up to 12 hours. Included with the controller will be a carrying travel case to hold all the accessories that come with it.

The Astro T40 CR Controller will be coming sometime in early 2019 with a price tag of $200/$269.
