PlayStation Productions Greenlit New Until Dawn Film With It, Annabelle Writer

Over at PlayStation, its approach to transmedia adaptations have only been in good light thus far. Just recently, this was being recognized with the Oscars taking place as The Last of Us received eight awards. However, it did come short of another HBO series Succession at The Golden Globes. Even more, filming is expected to kick off as well for season 2.

Other series continuing includes Twisted Metal as star Anthony Mackie shared he will be returning as John Doe for another run. At CES in early January, Sony also pressed that writing has already commenced for both God of War & Horizon Zero Dawn adaptations too. Moreover did so with also some footage of the coming Gravity Rush animated film as well in a separate trailer.

In a new development from The Hollywood Reporter, it is reported that Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn is to be the next Sony Interactive Entertainment property to be adapted. However, despite the announcement, the developer is not attached to the production. In 2022, the game studio was acquired by Nordisk Games.

As for those involved, director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation) is to be behind the camera whilst Gary Dauberman (It, The Nun) is to pen the script for the new project. Others involved includes Lotta Losten (Lights Out) of Magnata, Roy Lee (Barbarian, The Ring) of Vertigo, and Carter Swan (The Last of Us, Gran Turismo) & Asad Qizilbash (Uncharted, Twisted Metal) of PlayStation Productions are to produce.

The biggest surprise is no word on casting for the film yet. One of the most favorable portions from Until Dawn was the star-studded cast that were in the 2015 release. The most notable being Hayden Panettiere, Rami Malek, Peter Stormare, and Jordan Fisher. There is also no expected time of release for the Until Dawn movie too.
