The Aftermath of Genesis is one of the next missions following Enter, Pursued by a Memory in Red Dead Redemption 2. You have the choice of choosing this mission or the Old Friends mission first. In this mission, you’ll learn how to hunt deer with a bow and arrow, along with Charles.
How To Earn Gold Medal In The Aftermath of Genesis
There are three objectives in this mission to complete if you want the gold medal. It’s fairly simple. You have to be very quiet and have good aim.
1 – Kill each deer with a single arrow.
Tip: Aim at the head and neck area
2 – Don’t scare off any deer.
Tip: Don’t run; stay crouched and keep your distance.
3 – Get a clean kill with the second deer.
Tip: Once again, aim at the head of the deer.
The Aftermath of Genesis Walkthrough
You will start off the mission in a room that allows you to somewhat explore the surrounding camp. As mentioned earlier, there are two different missions you can start in any order. If you open the map, you’ll see a ‘P’ icon on the map for Mr. Pearson, and he’ll want to speak with you.
Walk up to Pearson, then a cutscene will begin. After the cutscene, Charles will hand you a bow, and then follow Charles. Keep up with him by using the action button for your horse. After some dialogue, he will take you to a prime hunting spot for deer.
Dismount your horse, grab the bow and arrow from your satchel. Next, you’ll need to stay low and use the tracking system to find your first deer. Enabling Eagle Eye will help identify where deer might be. Once you spot your first deer, Charles will tell you to hit it in the neck or head.
Tip: Try not to hold the bow for too long, or else Arthur will start shaking and stop aiming.
After killing the first deer, you’ll have to kill one more so both characters have their own. Once the second one is killed, you’ll walk up to it and pick it up. Now whistle for your horse and place the deer on the back of it.
Walk to meet back up with Charles and follow him to return to Mr. Pearson. When you get back to the camp area, hitch your horse, then remove the deer to carry it right into Pearson’s cabin. Drop the deer for a cutscene to appear. After the scene, walk up to the deer to skin it.
