The idea of first-person gameplay in a Rockstar game was usually reserved for a mod that you would have to manually apply on the PC version of the game, and half the time the mod wouldn’t be a very refined product. With the debut of Grand Theft Auto: V for this generation consoles, however, the new perspective was introduced and instantly added another layer of depth to the already massive title.
Now the same feature will be coming to the highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2, according to IGN. The outlet, along with another handful of other news sites, got hands-on gameplay with the upcoming action western and was able to give their impressions from the few hours they played.
Similar to GTA V, players will be able to toggle this setting on and off at any point in the game. All but cutscenes will be effected by this new feature.
As for what this new Red Dead offers, compared to 2013’s GTA, is more detailed NPC interactions and a greatly enhanced game engine. On top of that, the upcoming Red Dead Online will switch up what we already know from GTA Online. More will be revealed closer to the approaching beta this November.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 26, 2018.
