Report: 100+ Backward Compatible Games On PlayStation 5 Face Issues Running On The Next-Gen Machine

In concern towards backwards compatibility for the PlayStation 5, many are enjoying some of the definitive releases of the previous PlayStation 4 on the next-generation console with no issue. However, there are some issues that users might face with the newest iteration of PlayStation. That being how optimized the respected title is, some are more deteriorated than others.

In a report from Kotaku, more than 100 titles are said to be facing some issues. But, the publications goes on to tell that the complications for the PlayStation 4 games could be very minimal or become drastically annoying for users. Previously, Sony Interactive Entertainment did leave a disclaimer on the matters when listing the batch of titles unavailable for PlayStation 5 backwards compatibility support.

“Before purchasing add-ons to play with your PS4 games on PS5 consoles, please try to boot and play your PS4 games on your PS5 console to see if you are happy with the play experience,” the disclaimer read on the support page. As for the list of entries, Kotaku used github to filter the list of titles facing issues, finding roughly 115 games in total. Here is the full list below:

As to what some of these technological hiccups might be, that is set on a game-to-game bases: some titles might be plagued with slow downs or low framerates while other games might find a single flaw in the late parts of the experience. Ultimately, it varies and could easily be resolved or require more time to soften the rougher edges.

As for what is to come for PlayStation 5, Sony does comment on a matter of questions regarding its latest gaming device.
