Observing the upcoming titles propped up for the PlayStation 5, Sony Interactive Entertainment offers a unique lineup of properties for players to anticipate towards purchasing the next-generation console. However, its third-party selection is also illustrated to be exciting as well. The firm since its PlayStation 5 showcase back in June has presented a handful of approaching titles that will also lure users to buy its newest iteration PlayStation with timed exclusive deals.

These games include two projects underway from publisher Bethesda – Tengo Gameworks’ Ghostwire: Tokyo and Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop. Both titles are said to be unique to PlayStation 5 when it arrives later on in 2021 with PC simultaneously. Followed by an Xbox Series X version to drop at a later time.

But according to one industry insider, the company is still looking to pursue other major projects underway for the next-generation system. While talking on a recent Kinda Funny Games Daily, Imran Khan discloses that Sony has already used its resources on properties that has yet to be officially revealed as a timed exclusive. The topic comes into frame from the conversation of the exclusive Spider-Man DLC for Marvel’s Avengers.

There are things you will be shocked to find out that Sony is moneyhatting, that they are locking up for timed exclusivity. Wow, that is a game that you’re choosing?’ Not because it’s bad, but because it’s huge. I’m interested to see where this conversation is going to be in a couple of months because there are games that are widely accepted as multi-platform that Sony is locking up for a little while.

Taken that Khan has proven his knowledge within the moving gears of the video game industry, it is suspected that his claim can be backed when Sony is prepared to reveal more in the coming weeks. Previously, Khan has disclosed the presence of the highly-anticipated Metroid Prime Trilogy for Nintendo Switch, where other industry insiders corroborate with the project being legitimate.

As for what possible projects could be exclusive to PlayStation 5, it is best to look at the marketed properties for the platform. Franchises such as Call of Duty for instance could be a likely candidate to suspect. While there is no tangible evidence to suggest this possibility to be on the horizon, there is a likeliness following the relationship Sony Interactive Entertainment shares with Activision. Just look at Crash Bandicoot N’ Sane Trilogy previously.

What games do you think Sony might’ve nabbed for a PlayStation 5 timed exclusive?
