Following the previous rumors that surfaced earlier this week revolving around a potential State of Play dedicated to showcase Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated The Last of Us Part II, it wasn’t long until word came out that the alleged presentation came to be false from Spain-based website Legion de Jugadores. But fans will not be leaving empty handed this week as reputable word have detailed the title to be dropping shortly after the transition into 2020.
From Kotaku Editor Jason Schreier on Twitter, he verified the supposed November 8th release date for Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding to be true following the floating rumor that emerged this week. Atop of the game coming later this Fall, he also shares to have heard of the forthcoming 2013 follow-up to be releasing later next year.

Schreier stating that the title initially sharing the same launch window with Kojima’s upcoming game, but was later decided to be pushed into Q4, “possibly February.” Assuming that the decision was made so both of the platform’s most anticipated titles to close this generation for Sony will not overshadow one another.
Looking back on previous rumors that closed in on a 2019 release date from both PlayStation Music via YouTube and leaks through retailers in Peru, Schreier’s statement does add up for the sequel to be aimed for Fall originally. As well as filming for motion capture finishing up just over a month ago, a Q3 aimed launch does line up with the recent news.Â
