It’s been a few days since Resident Evil 7 launched and it has been a success so far. The game has shipped 2.5 million copies to retailers and Capcom is happily counting them as sold. Even the demo of the game has been doing well with over 7 million downloads.

“with the new RE ENGINE, a proprietary game engine developed in-house for this title, Capcom has pushed hardware specifications to their limits,” said Capcom.
“As a result, the title garnered attention worldwide, with the demo version exceeding 7.15 million downloads — a record for the series — and the game selling more than 2.5 million units.”

So far Resident Evil 7 has been winning 2017, but it’s too early to call it one of the best of the year.
