Publisher Capcom announced today that Resident Evil Requiem, released on February 27, 2026, sold over 5 million copies in its first five days of release. The game was released for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC all at the same time and essentially led all digital storefronts in sales.

Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth installment in the franchise, which is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this month. It’s also the highest-rated game of the year so far and one of the highest on Metacritic, joining Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 from last year.
