One trend of collaborations that continues to grow within the video game industry is for more lines of shoes. In that past year or so, many developer and publishers have contacted shoe brands like Nike and Addidas to bring popular properties to the real world with themed footwear for fans that really want to sport their favorite game.
Most noted is one announcement back in February 2019 where Tetris and Puma announced to be teaming up to bring a unique pair of shoes based off the near three decade-old game series. The design itself is most iconic from the trim on the soles which is made up of tetrominoes associated with the classic game. Now, another line of sneakers is underway from Artifact Studios.
In that, developer Respawn Entertainment reveals that it will be collaborating with the video game shoe firm to bring a unique pair of footwear themed after the latest Legend addition Rampart. The shoes will be provided via a giveaway involved with the Rampart’s Finest campaign.
Additionally, there is also plans to bring a whole line of Apex Legends-themed footwear to the fans of the popular battle royale as there are, at least, four other designs that have also been shared elsewhere for sale. In a tweet from Chris Le, Co-Founder of Artifact Studios, he offers renders for sneakers based off of Crypto, Lifeline, Octane, and Wattson.
In addition to the news breaking this Tuesday, the day also holds some significance for Apex Legends: cross-platform play goes into beta for the game. Part of the Aftermarket Collection Event, players can pair with users on different systems finally. You can read the full report by heading here.
