Summary

7/10

Tile Tales: Pirate is a gold doubloon in the world of mobile puzzle games. With its addictive gameplay, charming humor, and pirate-packed puns, it’s an adventure that’ll keep ye hooked like a fish on a line. While the difficulty ramps up fast and can be frustrating the game is while worth the play. However, in my opinion I'm not sure the game will perform well on consoles other then Switch and Steam deck , due to the simplistic controls and laidback game style.

Ahoy, me hearties! If ye be seekin’ a mobile game with treasure galore, Tile Tales: Pirate will shiver yer timbers in all the right ways, but getting to that treasure won’t be easy ye see! This sliding puzzle adventure charts the journey of a mischievous pirate through 90 handcrafted levels spanning 9 “bootyful” biomes. It’s a game packed with hours of puzzling plunder and a bounty of pirate puns that’ll have ye grinnin’ like a well-fed buccaneer.

As mentioned the gameplay is as simple as sliding tiles but as tricky as navigating a ship through a hurricane. Ye must chart yer pirate’s path through sunny beaches, eerie graveyards, and everything in between, collecting treasures while avoiding wasted moves. Each level challenges yer wit, and earning stars for efficiency adds an extra layer of strategy for cunning captains. I will say the difficulty level ramps up very fast in this game and can become quite frustrating and make you want to walk the plank yourself!

The humor in Tile Tales: Pirate is a treasure in itself. Cutscenes filled with animated antics and piratey quips will have ye chucklin’ like a jolly roger on a windy day. Whether it’s undoing a misstep or hearing the pirate’s grumblin’ when ye mess up, the game keeps yer spirits high (even when yer treasure count isn’t).

From sun-drenched beaches to spooky graveyards where more than just treasure lies buried, every chapter introduces a fresh challenge. Each biome’s design is lush and immersive, makin’ yer journey feel like a true pirate’s paradise—or nightmare, dependin’ on yer puzzle-solvin’ skills. And don’t worry, landlubbers; ye won’t need to hoist more coin to enjoy the final three chapters when they arrive in 2025.
