As many followers of the PlayStation 5 might recall from the beginning of the month, it was reported there is still more to come from Sony as not everything was shared during the initial showcase back in June. In that, it was told that there are some larger announcements that will take place to solidify consumers pursuit to pick up a PlayStation 5 later this holiday season.

During that report, it was told that the reveal(s) would be during State of Play presentation that would take place sometime in August the following month. And this past week, business analyst Roberto Serrano disclosed that the official date for the showcase would take place at the start of the month on August 6.

However, the contents of said presentation was not shared as you could expect. But there is suspicion which shared to believe the date is accurate. In a new rumor that was shared by YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead, he discloses that one of the announcements is a sequel to Santa Monica Studio’s God of War. You can watch the segment of the video below:

“This is a bombshell I believe – is a new God of War,” the YouTuber shares in the video. “This sequel will be showed off supposedly under a month; this is a well-guarded secret and its supposedly going to have, well I’m just quoting him [source within Sony] ‘jaw-dropping graphics that will approach photo-realism’.”

Moore’s Law is Dead also spared that another property will be showcased, but he said due to the sensitivity of the details regarding said project – he could not disclose the information ahead of the reveal. But he does state that it is “revival of a mainstay of PlayStation – one that used to be a bigger tentpole franchise.” While some have suspected this to be Silent Hill in recent weeks, Rectify Gaming has proven that to not be the case in the previous report.

The YouTuber despite sharing miniscule details on the supposed sequel has been proven to be correct with the recent announcement of Fable during this past Thursday’s Xbox Games Showcase. In that, he stated the new title will be developed by Playground Games and would revitalize the series with an overall reboot – as you can collect from the titling alone.

What the contents of this entry will follow is left unknown as of writing. It was previously disclosed by director Cory Barlog that that team did at one point wanted to pursue Egyptian Mythology for the series, so perhaps that might be a good guess for now. Do you plan on getting this supposed God of War sequel?
