For fans of Ryu Ga Gotoku, it is never a long wait before its next game releases. The Japanese game studio does and continues to deliver fulfilling experiences in such a surprisingly small window. In fact, the next example of this is Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii arriving in February this winter. What’s more, the studio will be celebrating the anniversary throughout 2025 for Like a Dragon now with 20 years under its belt.
Additionally, RGG Studio is also most notable for another beloved IP – Super Monkey Ball. The game – Banana Rumble – earlier in November which included more features, a Dole crossover, and more characters for a reason to return to the game. In the past during the transition of power among leadership, it was revealed that the team is also handling a new IP internally at Ryu Ga Gotoku.
Now at The Game Awards, RGG Studio unveils Project Century. While limited on what this new game entails, it does appear to scratch the itch for True Crime or even Sleeping Dogs. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
Unlike the direction that mainline Like a Dragon titles are embracing as an role-playing game, Project Century fully enters itself into the brawler combat that older RGG titles have been recognized for. One more, the new title also appears to approach its presentation with an idealized version of Japan that the game is obviously set in. Alongside that, expressive animations and unique adversaries bring a new taste to players mouths.
This is not the only game that Ryu Ga Gotoku has planned for its future. Previously, it was revealed through premature leaks that a new mobile game is in the works. Titled ‘Yakuza Wars’, the game has yet to be properly announced. You can read the full report by heading here.
