GSC Game World has stumbled across a lot of development trouble when it comes to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The game received its first major delay a couple of years ago when it was expected to launch in December 2022. Since then it has been delayed and the developer announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will finally release on September 5, 2024.
Today, GSC Game World announced one last delay for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and it will now be released on November 20, 2024. This time around it will only be delayed for another two months as opposed to waiting another year. A new trailer was also released on YouTube to go along with this announcement.

“We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience. These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more “unexpected anomalies” (or simply “bugs”, as you call them). We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding – it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.” said Yevhen Grygorovych, Game Director at GSC Game World.
A Developer Deep Dive with GSC Game World will go down on August 12, 2024, in partnership with Xbox which will include never-before-seen content. It will feature the following:
– Interviews and behind-the-scenes of the development process
– Lots of new footage, including world overview, various locations, gameplay and cutscenes;
– A full video walkthrough of one of the story quests.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
