Upon further examination, Nintendo remains consistent with new additions to the Nintendo Switch Online virtual libraries in recent months. In the past, the firm released monthly updates to the service, but later went on to upload periodic updates instead as options began to slim down. However, the past year remained an exciting era for users to return to the service for a fix on retro titles.
Just these past two months, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards shipped for the Nintendo 64 virtual library back in May. Additionally, the NES & SNES virtual systems also included Congo’s Caper, Rival Turf!, and Pinball in a separate update. Closing in towards the latter half of June, Pokémon Snap officially was added to the list as well.
Now in a new announcement recently, four new titles was added to the Sega Genesis virtual library. Of course, this collection is accessible via the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier. The new list of titles added includes Comix Zone, MEGA MAN: THE WILY WARS, Target Earth, and Zero Wing.
While other platforms remain in public eye for the Nintendo Switch Online service, the Sega Genesis has surprising welcomed new games in a similar fashion. Back in April, Shining Force II, Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball, And Space Harrier II was added. And a month prior in March featured Alien Soldier, Light Crusader, and Super Fantasy Zone.
If rumors happen to be true, Nintendo is planning to incorporate its own Game Boy & Game Boy Advanced virtual libraries in the coming future. The claims mention the firm using a third-party emulator to implement the feature as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
