Dark Shrine Main Hall in Silent Hill f leads deeper into the ritual chambers, Fox Mask chase, and finally the Rinko boss fight. From the worship hall, open the door to the ritual chamber area. Find a Bandage, an Antique Comb, and a Dirty Drawstring Bag in different rooms. Progressing in Dark Shrine Main Hall can be challenging due to its complex mechanics and a tough boss fight.
Find a switch or mechanism, and approach the boss arena after returning to the main hall. Fill your inventory with healing items, as enemies are lurking around over corner. Birthing Monster is back in this chapter; use the same tactics to defeat it. Reach all the Ritual Chambers and chase the Fox Mask to encounter the Rinko-Like Entity. Reach the First Ritual Chamber
You wake up in Dark Shrine and are asked to do three trials. Follow the Fox Mask to reach the first Ritual Chamber in Silent Hill f. Continue moving along the path on the right and enter the next room. Collect the bandage and Family Physician’s Log from the left side of this room. Find the shrine after moving to the left and taking a right turn. Pick up the Higashi from the opposite side of the shrine. Interact with the shrine and save your progress. Get out of the room, take the path on the left, and continue moving ahead till you encounter an enemy on the right side.
Defeat the enemy and keep moving straight. Go to the left to encounter the Shackled Monster. Eliminate this nasty monster and collect the items from there. Move to the left and get inside a room on the east side to encounter another enemy. Collect Antique Comb and Yokan from here.
Get inside the room filled with blue flame after getting back in the hall. Move to the right path and take the stairs to move upward. Defeat the enemy in the room in front of you and to the right. Continue moving to the right and open the gate. You will get a new arm after the cutscene ends here.
Reach the Second Ritual Chamber
Collect the Shriveled Abura-age from the right side and keep following the path. Go down the stairs and get ready to dodge the enemy attack. You can use your new arm as a weapon to eliminate the enemy. Once you defeat the enemy, hold X/A to absorb its soul. Go down the path and get access to the door. While you’re trying to open the second door here, an enemy will jump on you. Dodge the attack and defeat this enemy. Open the door and collect all the items over there.
Travel back to the shrine and save your progress. Get inside the room filled with blue flames on the left after exiting the previous room. You need to open the door on the right and locate Fox Mask. Interact with the shrine over there. Turn to the left and keep moving till you get inside the room. Once you make your way into the room, the door will automatically be locked due to the arrival of the Birthing Monster.
Eliminate Birthing Monster
This monster spawns cocoons that hatch into additional enemies. Take them out fast so they don’t overwhelm you. The Birthing Monster will cough up blood and spit acid. You must dodge it when you see it coming. It also roars and screams, which stuns you if you get too close. If any cocoons become monsters, kill them first so they don’t distract you.
Since the Birthing Monster is slow, you can dodge, land hits, then back off to avoid its ranged attacks. Press R2 for a counter if you see a red glow around it. Once you defeat the Birthing Monster, don’t forget to perform Soul Siphon. Get inside the Ritual Chamber and collect the First Aid Kit from the left side. A cutscene will commence, and your objective will be updated to reach the final Ritual Chamber.
Reach the Final Ritual Chamber
Follow the front path and defeat the enemies ahead of you. The second ritual allows you to gain a new ability. You need to fully charge it and press L3 and R3 to awaken the beast. Use this ability to defeat all the enemies over here. Continue moving in a straight direction and take the stairs to move upward. Get ready to defeat the enemy after reaching the hall.
Pick up a bandage, an Antique Comb, and a Dirty Drawstring Bag once you take out all the enemies. Your inventory will be full at times while progressing in the game, and using a Dirty Drawstring Bag allows you to enhance the inventory capacity.
Take the stairs to move down after getting out of the hall. Eliminate the Shackled Monster and collect Yokan from there. Interact with the shrine on the left and save your progress. Move in the opposite direction and get inside the room on the right. Collect the letter, Higashi, and a First Aid Kit, and return to the first shrine of this chapter.
Move to the left path and start moving towards the hall. You will spot the room filled with blue flames on your right. Get inside and move to the right side. Take the stairs to move upward and get inside another room through the sacred door.
Defeat the Monsters
An enemy and a monster (Blade-Legged) will spawn in this room, so make sure to activate your Bestial form to eliminate them. Perform heavy attacks to stun them and then follow up with the light attacks to finish them off. Move straight and get inside the room for the final ritual. You will be transformed into a full monster after the cutscene commences.
Follow the Fox Mask
Keep chasing the Fox Mask till you find yourself at a dead end. Use your new ability to see the hidden paths. Unlock the path by pressing the L2 key. Return to the main hall and spot fox statues. Approach Fox Mask and follow it. A boss fight will initiate once the cutscene ends.
Defeat Rinko
Rinko swings 3~5 times in succession; the final attack will often have a red distortion or visual cue. You need to dodge the early swings, then counterattack when you see the cue for the final swing. She raises her chest and starts a throwing motion; sometimes smoke trails or cues appear before they land. You must wait for the last moment to dodge. Use the dodge to avoid, and once she finishes, it’s a chance to close in and hit her. Smoke or dark patches appear on the ground, or you see her raise her arms.
Get out of the marked areas immediately. When safe, approach for a hit or two, then back off. Try to fight more at medium range, where you can avoid her dangerous melee but still punish. Equip any Omamori or gear that helps with survival. Make sure your inventory has healing items before the fight.
Rinko will start doing long-range attacks when the second phase starts. More enemies will enter the arena, and she can charge her weapon and unleash lava towards you. You can take a lot of damage if you get hit by this attack. Defeat the enemies and absorb their souls to fill your gauge.
Activate the Bestial Form once the gauge is charged. Defeat the Ranko, and a cutscene will appear on the screen. Hinako will wake up outside Shu’s house, and that’s where Dark Shrine Main Hall (Chapter 9) ends.
