Believe it or not, the rise of BMX release are on a rise alongside skateboarding sims also in a renaissance too. Previously in 2024, we saw the release of Legends BMX. “Extreme sports games have always thrived on their ability to make players feel like absolute legends. LEGENDS BMX embraces this mantra with its energetic gameplay and slick presentation, delivering a rush of adrenaline for BMX enthusiasts and newcomers alike,” Rectify Gaming wrote for its review of the title.
Additionally, things were also shaping excitement with the upcoming project Streetdog BMX as well. At PAX East 2024, Rectify Gaming got hands-on with the title then. “The controls take pointers from both legacy & modern games of the genre that deliver a satisfying experience,” our impressions shares. Developer Adam Hunt even elaborated titles like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Dave Mirra BMX are a direct influence for the game’s controls.
Now fast-forward to 2026, Streetdog BMX is finally releasing. At least, PC will get first dibs on the game this week – for now. You can watch the release date trailer in the video below:
“Yo! After 4 years of work, I’m so stoked to announce that Streetdog BMX is finally fully baked, and is releasing on Steam in just a few weeks,” the blog post from November reveals. “I’m super proud of how it’s turned out – I was aiming for that sweet spot between Sim and Arcade and I think I might have just pulled it off.” In a YouTube Short video, Hunt explains the roadmap for Streetdog BMX to hit more platforms.
“Step One is the PC version which is coming out on Steam. Step Two is Xbox & PlayStation: I’m getting some help with these versions, so I’m hoping to get these released in the next few months. Step Three is Nintendo. Switch 1 & Switch 2 are going to take a bit longer, but I’d love to release on both if I can. Step Four is mobile: I’m looking forward to tackling this a bit later on in 2026.”
