Switch 2 reaches 17.37 million units sold, Mario Kart World sold 14M

Nintendo has released its latest Financial Results as of December 31, 2025. They revealed the Switch has sold over 155 million units, making it the best-selling console in Nintendo history. The Switch 2 is the fastest-selling Nintendo console, reaching 17.37 million units sold in just over six months. 

Software sales were also revealed. Mario Kart World sold 14.03 million units since June 2025, and the Switch 2 bundles most likely helped it reach this number. Other key game sales include Donkey Kong Banaza which has sold 4.25 million, Pokémon Legends: Z-A Switch 2 Edition, sold 3.89 million units, and lastly, Kirby Air Riders sold 1.76 million units. 

Where Are Metroid Prime 4 Sales?

What’s notable on the latest financial report from Nintendo is the absence of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond sales. The company didn’t mention the game’s sales on Switch or Switch 2. They do not combine sales numbers, and it’s possible the game sold 1 million if you combine both versions, but clearly, it has not reached the milestone on Switch 2 alone.
