Good news for those who have been anticipating to see how the Switch version of Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be handled: according to the game’s page on the Nintendo eShop, the game will only be 15 GB and for those who plan on getting the physical version might not be burdened with any additional downloads for the collection of remastered nostalgic titles.
Since the reveal of the game, fans were surprised yet welcoming that the game, unlike the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, will be launching on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, the respected version for PC as well as the Nintendo Switch have been left astray until this past month. Keyboard/mouse users will finally be able to join the fun as a listing for PC surfaced on the Taiwanese Ratings Board in late-May.
And for the port to the Switch, Nintendo showcased the game’s arrival during this year’s E3 Direct just for the event went live in Los Angeles. What makes this new information more reassuring is based on the previous rumors that surrounded the title before even knowing of the Switch version going public. Deprived from the claims on the game, it was said that the title will only feature the first Spyro game on the cartridge while the remaining two will have to be installed via download voucher: moreover implying that this iteration for Nintendo’s console will be heftier than the current 15 GB, but now we know that is certainly not the case.
In comparison to the Switch version of the first three Crash remasters, the Reignited Trilogy however weighs a bit more than anticipated; nonetheless it is still impressive with the outcome. The N. Sane Trilogy on PlayStation 4 standing at 26.23 GB whilst the Switch is only 5.3 GB. And as for the Spyro trilogy on PS4 with a moderate 31.39 GB meets halfway to 15 GB on Switch, though not as compressed as the previous 6.3 GB is still less of a burden overall.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be coming to Nintendo Switch on September 2, 2019.
