
From its cult following and the string of spiritual successors, it was almost no surprise that System Shock would be receiving a remake. Came the title’s release in 2024, Rectify Gaming scored it a 8/10. “With its faithful reimagining, Nightdive Studios pays homage to a game that shaped the immersive sim genre and solidifies SHODAN’s place as one of gaming’s most unforgettable villains.”
Additionally, it was later brought to realization that Nightdive Studios would also be remastering 2000’s System Shock 2 as well to modern systems. The original promise for ‘System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster‘ was to ship the game in June 2025 for all platforms. However, it was shared that the consoles would require a few more weeks in the oven before it’s ready.
Now it is revealed from Nightdive Studios that System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster is now set to arrive next week on July 10th to all consoles. The list of hardware includes Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. It is also clarified that the updated version that is already on PC will also be included for this new version come next week,
“UPDATE: System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will release on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles on Thursday, July 10 and will include all of the patches that we’ll be releasing on PC platforms!” Nightdive Studios writes in the new post on X.
This is not the only recent news for one of Nightdive Studios’ titles. It was also shared that all three Turok games are receiving a complete physical release for Switch & PlayStation.
