As hardware continues to become more complex offering photorealistic visuals for genres across, the same can be expected for top-down shooter RPGs as well. One game being the recently announced The Ascent. Set in a cyberpunk-like metropolis, the inhabitants are controlled by the corporate pundits that was once in control has fallen and all mayhem has consumed the dystopian city.
Taking on this new journey either alone or in co-op with friends, The Ascent is about forming allies, or enemies, through this new immersive experience. You can watch the full trailer in the video below:
Alongside the pre-rendered CGI trailer, there are some samples of gameplay scattered throughout the video as well. “The mega corporation that owns you and everyone, The Ascent Group, has just collapsed. Confusion and chaos ensue, security and order are in disarray, and without protection, everyone is left to fend for themselves,” the description for the game reads. “Stop gangs and hostile corporations from taking over and discover what really happened.”
From what might already be expected from similar patterns of prior announcements, Smart Delivery support will be available for this upcoming title as well. Featuring the ability for users who own the Xbox One version to swap to Xbox Series X with ease later on this coming holiday season.
