The Division 2: Survivors Extraction Experience Announced

Years ago in 2018, The Division 2 shipped and delivered a fulfilling second installment for the series. In our review, Rectify Gaming scored the game an 8.5/10. “Whether you’re just there as a single player for the story missions, a completionist looking to get every collectable and solve every puzzle, a PvP fanatic ready to take on anyone in the Dark Zone, an explorer out to take stunning post-apocalyptic photos in every type of weather and see the world, or a long-term player grinding out levels over and over to get the very best gear, there’s something for you.”

Now seven years later, The Division 2 is still receiving new content beyond its promised support window. Earlier this spring, it welcomed a new story expansion, ‘Battle for Brooklyn’ which yet again returned the series to New York. Also, Ubisoft in partnership with Starbreeze, announced it would be collaborating with Payday to feature cosmetics from the bank heist series in The Division 2.

Recently, Ubisoft released the new roadmap for The Division 2. Alongside the new update ‘The Pact’, there is also a planned extraction experience underway for the base game titled ‘The Division 2: Survivors’. You can watch The Pact trailer in the video below:

“Division 2: Survivors will bring an updated take on the survival extraction experience to The Division 2! Development of The Division: Survivors is currently in the early stages, under the leadership of Magnus Jansén as Creative Director- a veteran of the Division from the early days of the original game,” Massive Entertainment writes; sharing a slew of concept art for the new mode. 

Executive producer Julian Gerighty also leaves a statement following the announcement for The Division 2: Survivors: “The Division 2: Survivors is as much your baby as it is ours, and we strive for transparency during its development. Clear communication and community involvement are a focus as we build the new experience, and we will be closely involving you as we move forward on the development journey.”

How excited are you for The Division 2: Survivors?

The Division 2: Survivors has no listed release. The roadmap appears to suggest it might release sometime after 2026.
