The Witcher TV Series is Being Made on Netflix

A TV series based on The Witcher novel series, the same ones the games are based on, is being developed at Netflix the provider announced today. Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of the books, will serve as a consultant on the show.
Also announced was that the Director of Cyberpunk 2077 and various videos for The Witcher games will direct at least one episode of the series. “I am thrilled that Netflix will be doing adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,” said Sapkowski. No details on the story were announced, or how many episodes, but since it’s on Netflix it would be safe to assume 13 episodes are in order.
We’ll have to wait and hear more, but at this point a 2018 release window is the aiming point.
