Austrian Publisher THQ Nordic as we have already witness in the recent past is not afraid to spend a little money towards acquiring more parties under the company’s belt for more variety when publishing titles for the current market. Just last month, THQ Nordic shared to have roughly 80 different titles in development as reported, and 48 of that have still yet to be properly announced.

Now in parallel to the recent financial report that took place earlier today, THQ Nordic has disclosed to have acquired three more companies: Gunfire Games, Milestone S.r.l., and Goodbye Kansas Game Invest.

Firstly, Gunfire Games is an expected purchase from the publisher as the studio just released Darksiders 3 back in October under Nordic, but regardless is a great addition to the line of developers. THQ Nordic CEO Lars Wingefors on the acquisition:

With the acquisition of Gunfire Games we are strengthening THQ Nordic’s footprint in the US and are adding an experienced and talented development team that we know very well from having collaborated on Darksiders. Gunfire will contribute with premier development expertise to the group with realizable synergies from day one.

Following with the acquisition of Milestone Publishing, THQ Nordic originally announced the company’s purchase back in June earlier this year, but has been fully carried through just today. Milestone fancies towards developing racing titles since the studio’s opening back in 1994, but is primarily known for the Ride and MotoGP series.

The final acquisition for THQ Nordic is of Sweden-based Goodbye Kansas Game Invest. Looking at the success of titles being developed in Nordic countries specifically, THQ alongside Goodbye Kansas is excited to work together towards introducing more creative minds in the area to a bigger scale in the forming conglomerate. “Goodbye Kansas Game Invest is led by a skilled team with strong insights and experience in developing and growing gaming companies. Besides continuing to support the current portfolio, the transaction provides a great platform for strategic investments in early-stage companies as well as in established teams starting their own development studios,” THQ Nordic CEO shares.

Derived from the latest financial report for THQ Nordic, it was also revealed that following the acquisition of the Timesplitters IP, the publisher is looking ahead with a new project for the series to already be in development. You can the full piece here.
