Prior to this year’s Xbox press conference during E3 in June, Ninja Theory’s next project was leaked to be a melee-only, online brawler called Bleeding Edge. Soon after the project was properly announced and the studio scheduled a technical alpha for the game in the following month. The closed test was then-exclusive to Xbox, but later announced for PC later in August.
Now revealed today, the English studio announced that this coming playtest will be coming to Windows 10 next Thursday, October 24th. In conjunction with the new platform that will be able to indulge on Ninja Theory’s 4v4 melee arena title, players upon both platforms will have the opportunity to play coexistingly.
Bleeding Edge on PC will feature cross play with the Xbox One version of the game and includes controller support. This means both PC players and Xbox One players are participating in the same technical alpha.
Introducing not only cross-platform play, but also cross-save will be implemented for those who decide to bounce between PC & Xbox and want to keep their progress on Bleeding Edge. And as this is an Xbox Game Studios published title, the title is also enabled for Xbox Play Anywhere as well: only requires one purchase and is available for the opposing platform also.
Regarding other PC storefronts like Steam or the Epic Games Store; unfortunately this coming technical alpha will only be available via Windows 10 as the download is required through the platform exclusive app, Xbox Insider Hub.
Do you plan on testing the waters for Bleeding Edge?
Bleeding Edge is still in early alpha for Xbox One and PC.
