Xbox Game Pass Family Plan Soft Launches In Ireland & Colombia

Alike the concept of Netflix, Hulu, or HBO Max, the business model for monthly services has expanded to other mediums. In the video game industry, this has proven to be the most successful with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. Despite the platform remaining to be outperformed by its competition, the service since this year overtook more than 25 million subscribers back in January.

Gaining influence so much so that even Sony Interactive Entertainment has interpreted its own new tier system alongside incorporating legacy support through the same business model. Stepping back a few months, it was reported that the next step in the near future for Xbox Game Pass is a family plan to stretch the service across multiple accounts officially.

In a new announcement recently, Xbox Game Pass is to receive its release in select countries Ireland and Colombia.

In Colombia and Ireland, Xbox Insiders can begin to preview a plan that allows multiple people to share Game Pass Ultimate benefits. This makes it even easier to play the best Game Pass games with friends and family across console, PC, and cloud by enabling you to add up to four people to your subscription, all with their own unique access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games, content, and benefits.

“The people you share your membership with do not have to be Insiders but must reside in the same country as you. Enrollment is limited and will remain open while the offer is available,” additional information for the new program reads. “Joining the Game Pass – Insider Preview will convert the time remaining on your membership to time in the new plan, based upon the monetary value of the old membership.

“For example, a full month of Ultimate will be converted to 18 days of membership for this plan. This way you won’t lose any of the remaining value on your existing subscription upon conversion. Conversion is final, and users must wait for their new membership to expire before returning to a previous membership.”

As for other confirmed perks for Xbox Game Pass users, soon your purchase library will be playable via Xbox Cloud Gaming. The service later this fall for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will allow subscribers to access their full library aside from the repertoire of games from the service.
