Ys Net Announces Shenmue III Coming To Steam On November 19

While the long wait wasn’t enough for fans that followed and even backed the crowdfunding campaign for Shenmue III, fans were left unsatisfied to learn that the game would be offered through a timed exclusive deal. Developer Ys Net disclosed that the then-approaching title would be handled through Epic Games Store on PC which left a sour taste in the mouths of dozens of fans.

In the heat of the moment, Epic Games obliged to the demands and issues refunds to those that felt cheated on the matters on Shenmue III’s unique release on its PC storefront. Following the game’s arrival last November, it was only a matter of time for fans to wait until the Steam version arrives.

In a new blog post today, Ys Net reveals that Shenmue III will be shipping to Steam one year exact following the game’s initial release – November 19.

Yes, it is official, Shenmue III will be released on Steam this November 19th. Game and in-game rewards codes will be available for PC version backers who manually selected the Steam opt-in through the survey during the September/October 2019 survey resend period.

Applicable backers will be able to claim their codes through the “Downloads and Download Codes” section of your survey. Fangamer will send out email notices when the codes are ready a few days prior to release.

Video games is not the only news relevant to Shenmue as of late. In a recent announcement in collaboration with Ys Net and Crunchyroll, a new anime based on the video game series is now in production.
