Last week, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer brought journalists, YouTube personalities and Twitch streamers to San Francisco to try out firsthand so of the console’s most anticipated spring titles and platform updates.
The spring games lineup begins today with the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for Windows 10 release, and includes a wide variety of games for the entire playerbase for both Xbox One and Windows 10, and includes anticipated titles such as Quantum Break, Forza, and Killer Instinct.
“At Xbox we believe gamers should be able to play the games they want, with the people they want, on the devices they want,” Spencer said. “Making more of our popular games available for gamers to play on either Xbox One or Windows 10, each powered by Xbox Live, is another important step towards this vision. We are committed to delivering amazing gaming experiences for gamers who play on consoles, PCs or both.”  Here’s a list of some of the biggest titles coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 this spring:
Dark Souls III – Launching April 12 on Xbox One, Dark Souls III is the third game in the hit Dark Souls series, and will take players on a dark apocalyptic journey through Hidetaka Miyazaki’s deep universe.
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex – Forza Motorsport 6: Apex will arrive in the Windows Store this spring, and will allow players a tour of what Forza Motorsport 6 offers, from new gameplay modes, cars, and especially DirectX 12, allowing the game to offer gorgeous visuals at up to 4K resolution.
Forza Motorsport 6 (Porsche Expansion Pack) – Avaliable today, the Porsche Expansion Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 gives players an additional 8-hour campaign spanning Porche’s 60-year history, in which fans will have the chance to race in 21 Porsche models, 8 of which are new to Xbox.  The expansion will also feature a new raceway, the Virginia International Raceway.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition – Windows 10 – Remade from the ground up, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Windows 10 offers stunning 4K resolution built in DirectX 12 on Windows 10 for the first time.
ID@Xbox – 2 games were showcased here: Pit People from The Behemoth, a fast paced, turn-based co-op adventure, for which a closed beta will launch later in this year; and Below from Capy, a Descent in to the Depthst. Explore. Survive. Discover.
Killer Instinct: Season 3 – In Killer Instinct 3, eight new fighers will join the arena on March 29 on both Xbox One and Windows 10.  The team from Microsoft Studios and Iron Galaxy showcased the first four (Kim Wu, Tusk, The Arbiter from Halo, and Rash from Battletoads) for the audience.
Minecraft with Oculus Rift support – Microsoft and Mojang joined forces with Oculus, providing the first-ever demos of Minecraft with Oculus Rift support on Windows 10.  This experience will be available from the Windows Store and Oculus store this spring.
Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition – Additional content for Ori and the Blind Forest is coming, and will enhance the original experience by providing new areas to expore, new abilities, story sequences, new story modes, fast travel, and more.  It will be available March 11 for Windows 10 and Xbox One.
Quantum Break – Remedy Entertainment’s highly-anticipated title will launch on Xbox One and Windows 10 on April 5, and Microsoft wasted no time offering hands-on demosAnyone who purchases the Xbox Digital version through the Xbox store will receive a PC copy for free.
Tom Clancy’s The Division – Ubisoft shared hands-on time with the open beta content for The Division, the co-op multiplayer open world experience that recently broke the record for most players in Beta, showing how players will work together to reclaim New York from the aftermath of a deadly pandemic.   Tom Clancy’s The Divisoin relased in one week on March 8.
New Features for Windows 10 Xbox App and Xbox One – DirectX Showcased their new graphics enhancements on titles such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, King of Wushu, and Ashes of the Singularity.  Xbox also discussed new upcoming updates for the Xbox One and the Xbox App for Windows 10, including Gamerscore leaderboards, additional avatar support, a new “Featured” section, 16-person party chat, support for Xbox 360 achievements, and more.
With E3 rapidly approaching, gamers can not only be excited for this spring lineup, but also the full highly anticipated holiday lineup, which may include titles such as Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect: Andromeda.
