Following the bombastic release for cooperative action drama A Way Out from developer Hazelight, it leans the spotlight towards what is to possibly tail behind for another landmark release. Although the 2018 title was received just above average, the game’s reputation comes from its feature to invite a friend for free without owning the title.
At EA Play 2020, Hazelight resurfaced with a new story, It Takes Two. Continuing on its campaign to develop impactful co-op experiences, the new game follows the story of two toys that personify the troubling relationship between a husband and wife. With an arrival scheduled for March, it was only a matter of time that the game would make it to the hands of the players.
And roughly a month later, game studio Hazelight announces It Takes Two already exceeded more than one million copies sold.
Most notably is the statement from studio director Josef Fares who asserts the lingering demand for more cooperative-based titles. “This shows that there definitely is players that also wants to play co op only games!” He continues, “Thank you everyone and I hope we see more game like this.”
Outside of the recent interaction with the success of his latest release, Fares prior feels the opposite on the naming of the Xbox Series X. That’s a f**king confusing name.
