In the midst of the developing lineup for this coming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), featured firms are slowly unveiling its plans for the June show. While the 2021 show is going all-digital, the Electronic Software Association (ESA) did happen to unveil the roster for the three-day showcase. Companies and publishers like Xbox, Ubisoft, and Take-Two Interactive are just some of the big names tossed into the equation.

Additionally, Japanese publisher Square Enix commented on this year’s E3. While not initially listed by the organizer for the June event, CEO Yosuke Matsuda issued “we’ll make more announcements in the future, including at E3 in June.” As for the confirmed lineup, Ubisoft did also confirm that a Ubisoft Forward will be held on June 12 the first day of E3 as well.

However, while Konami is also included in the mix of major firms at E3 2021, the company has yet to address its upcoming lineup. But before it could make an impression, the firm on Twitter announced to be backpedaling on its attendance.

“Due to timing we will not be ready to present at E3 this year. We want to reassure our fans that we are in deep development on a number of key projects, so please stay tuned for some updates in the coming months. While we are not participating this year, we have great respect for the ESA and know that 2021 will be a great success.”

As to what the firm was speculated to feature at the coming show surely leaves fans on a bad note. One report from Video Game Chronicles issued Konami to be outsourcing the Silent Hill IP to a separate Japanese studio with a planned announcement this summer. Additionally, other industry insiders tell of the firm also sourcing the Metal Gear license to a third-party team. And not to mention the ratings for Metal Gear Rising/Castlevania most recently – Konami’s future is getting exciting.

What is confirmed for E3 this year are the three hosts that the ESA revealed to be presenting later in June. In that, Greg Miller, Jacki Jing, and Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez are to headline the show throughout its three-day span. You can read the full report by heading here.
