As to what is currently under Square Enix’s sleeve for its plans in the coming months, Final Fantasy VII continues to be the epicenter for more releases. Of course, the beloved 1997 title received its well-deserving remake last April and the remastering of the game for the PlayStation 5 is on the way. Even more, a new chapter under the moniker ‘Intergrade’ is to release simultaneously for the new system next month as well.
However, Square Enix is not done there as the publisher is also working out a Final Fantasy VII battle royale. Yes, you read that right. The firm is developing Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier. In summary, players can fight it out with firearms and magic based around the Final Fantasy VII universe in a large multiplayer environment.
Scheduled for a 2021 release for The App Store & Google Play Store, Square Enix in a recent press release unveils that Android users can pre-register in anticipation for a closed beta until the end of the month.
The battle royale action mobile game, FINAL FANTASY® VII THE FIRST SOLDIER, is now accepting pre-registrations for an upcoming closed beta test to be held from June 1 through 7, 2021. Players looking to prove themselves as prime SOLDIER candidates can sign up […] through the Google Play Store, now until May 28, 2021.
However, Square Enix does not leave any clarification if the exclusive playtest will carry over progress to the full release later this year. Even more, the publisher also leaves no information if the same limited beta will be coming to iOS-powered devices in the same window or later on.
Recently, Square Enix elaborated on a separate pre-registration going live for another game. In that, western fans can pre-register for NieR Reincarnation for The App Store and Google Play Store. You can read the full report by heading here.
