
While the wait appeared to be longer in terms of fans hoping to see Microsoft Flight Simulator supported on more hardware than PC, developer Asobo Studio delivered the 2020 release in July for Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S. Despite the scale of the experience and the detailed number of features that makes the title function on PC, a realistic port to Xbox happened to be more than what many anticipated altogether.
With more than five World Updates that arrived to the game since launch, Microsoft Flight Simulator is expecting more by this autumn as well. In that, a Top Gun Update is planned to ship this fall. Additionally, Asobo Studio previously went on to press that helicopters are also another mechanic it plans to address entering 2022 this year.
During Tuesday’s Xbox Gamescom Livestream, Asobo Studio unveiled World Update VI. The new title update focuses on the nations of Germany, Austria, Switzerland respectively with detailed additions. You can read the full list of feature below:

“Our latest World Update celebrates the region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland,” Jorg Neumann, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator shares on Xbox Wire. “New aerial imagery, high-resolution elevation maps and several brand-new 3D cities in Germany, Basel in Switzerland, Graz and Vienna in Austria are drastically enhancing the visuals of these three countries and the beautiful mountain-ranges of the Alps.”
Of course, this is only a teaser so a more addressed trailer will arrive come launch for World Update VI will include even more points of interest for Germany, Austria and Switzerland each later on in September. In terms of how impactful Microsoft Flight Simulator is for console, the team has addressed so with a giveaway in Australia.
At the time, Xbox Australia unveiled an official Xbox Series S suitcase that will be offered at a later time. With the Xbox Series X minifridge also entering production this year, it is just another Xbox novelty to enter the realm of reality. You can read the initial report by heading here.
