As many are aware of the undoubted fact of lacking first-party releases for the Xbox platform last generation, Microsoft is slowly flipping the script over time. This past June, the firm through its Bethesda/Zenimax Media acquisition unveiled that Starfield is to be an Xbox Series X|S exclusive. Despite the firm verifying it, Bethesda and later on Microsoft went on to validate that the game is not coming to more platforms outside of what is already slated.

But now that leaves uncertainty for Bethesda’s next major project – The Elder Scrolls VI. Most recently, game director Todd Howard explained despite the game’s 2018 announcement, the title is still in the design phase of development. So expecting a release date anytime soon is not likely to take place within the nearby future. But, one statement appears to determine which platform it will be available on.

Similar to Starfield, The Elder Scrolls VI is now indicated to be unique to Xbox. Clearing the air about Starfield’s uncertainty to release outside of Xbox, GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb told that The Elder Scrolls VI is also paved for its own spot on Xbox as well in one Twitter post.

While the claim certainly does not confirm the official placement for The Elder Scrolls VI when it does arrive, there is more context to it possibly being accurate. Prior to the official release date for Starfield, Grubb happened to be one of the industry insiders which corroborated the project to only be delivered to Microsoft’s platform. Now, it seems the trend continues for The Elder Scrolls VI.

The announcement does not come off farlandish as Bethesda has released previous The Elder Scrolls titles in the past only on Xbox. Back during the era of the original Xbox days, Bethesda Softworks shipped The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind to Xbox in 2002. And with the evident PC version as well, this will certainly be indifferent to how Microsoft handles its first-party releases in the present.

For those concerned about the announcement, there is more The Elder Scrolls coming to all major platforms. In that, Bethesda announced that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is planned to launch on the game’s 10-year birthday. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you hoping that The Elder Scrolls VI is exclusive to Xbox or no?
